Yoriichi Tsugikuni is the founder of Sun Breathing — the original swordsman of Demon Slayer lore — and a blade in his name has to carry both menace and ceremony. This Yoriichi Tsugikuni katana answers with a true cutting blade dressed in a gold braid wrap, a sword built to be handled hard and displayed with pride.

Forging & Steel

The 72 cm blade is forged from 1060 carbon steel, an alloy that balances hardness with flexibility — impact-tolerant and forgiving of handling errors, which is exactly what you want for intensive training. It is hand-polished to bring out the steel, then mounted on a full-tang core so the sword behaves as one continuous piece under load.

Mounts & Fittings

A sculpted iron tsuba guards the hand and seats the balance, while the gold braid wrap over the tsuka absorbs sweat and resists slipping for a secure hold through long sessions. The lightweight lacquered wood saya keeps the draw fast and the presentation clean.

Care & Maintenance

A high-carbon blade like this rewards a little upkeep. Because 1060 steel is reactive, wipe the blade down after every handling session and lay on a thin film of light mineral or camellia oil before it slides back into the saya, which stops surface rust from ever taking hold. Keep the edge away from hard contact during practice, and store the sword edge-up on a stand so the lacquered scabbard never bears the weight of the blade. Treated this way, it stays keen, bright and display-ready for years.

Is it battle-ready?

Yes. The sharpened, full-tang 1060 blade is built to take impact in training and still hold its place on a stand. Browse more of our anime katana range, including the Michikatsu Tsugikuni katana and the Tanjiro katana.
